Today(Aug 28th) Beijing Paralympic Games will have a lighting ceremony of the torch relay. This session of the Paralympic marks the 13th session of its kind. Our Paralympic Feature will lead you to a journey back to the history of the previous sessions and experience the past victories of the Games.

The first session of the Games was held in 1960 in Rome, Italy, it then became a competition held every four year. The 1976 Toronto Paralympic Games witnessed many "firsts." For the first time, 261 amputees and 187 visually impaired athletes were included in the program. Also for the first time, television coverage of the Paralympics was broadcast daily to more than 600,000 viewers in the Southern Ontario area.
