Welcome to an in-depth story of Olympic Games. This is Zhengyun reporting from Beijing.
According to the competition results over the past week, swimmers have broken 12 world records at Water Cubic, the National Aquatic Center. Why so many athletes are swimming faster at Water Cubic? Is it a magic pool? Let's listen to our interviewees' different opinions. Here are some interesting thoughts:
"The water is 3-meter deep, and normally it should be 2.5 meters. So it floats better."
"Many athletes said they feel like swimming in a natural pool, very relaxed, so they perform better."
Let's listen to what professionals say. Christina, a psychiatrist for Mexico swimming team, pointed out that:
"I think the structure is fantastic. It inspires athletes to break records."
In addition, many others agree technology has helped a lot.
"New suit. Everyone is swimming so fast."
Of course, a shark skin like swimsuit is said to reduce friction in water by up to 10 percent. No wonder so many athletes like wearing it. However, perhaps breaking records is not the priority for a game. The promising 8-gold winner Michael Phelps from the States said, what he thinks is enjoying the competition.
"I am going through doing what I have to do I am preparing myself for the best that I can, to compete as fast as I can. That¡¯s my goal and then that's what I am stick with."

(Michael Phelps competes in the Men's 200m Individual Medley on August 15th in the Water Cubic. He chalks up his six gold)
Don't forget that the Olympics motto is "Faster, higher and stronger." We are expecting more surprises from Cubic Meter, a magic box of dreams coming true.
