Welcome to our special report for the 29th Olympiad, this is Zhengyun reporting from Beijing. Did you watch the Beijing Olympic Ceremony? Do you want to watch it again? Good news is that the DVD is now on sale, and I went to check it out!
At one of the busiest commercial streets in Beijing called Wangfujing Street, I found a book store that sells DVDs of the opening ceremony. One set, containing two DVD's sells for 50 yuan. Customer, Mrs. Chen from Hong Kong bought 3.
"I will send one copy to my daughter in Canada. I think 50 yuan per set is a great deal."
Mr. Liu did not hestitate to purchase a copy.
"We came especially for the disc. Very happy. We worried it's sold out. We were still at Beidaihe last night and travelled to Beijing for it this morning."
Book center's marketing department director, Mrs. Chen, told me that:
"On the first day of sale, we sold 1000 in the first 5 hours. Most buyers keep it as souvenirs and many others buy like 50 or 60 sets as gifts for friends."
Of course, I also bought one for myself. Since I am not here to advertise, all I can do is tell you that, in my opinion, this memory deserves preserving.
