Canton Fair to Extend Exhibition Time Complying with directives given by the Ministry of Commerce, the next session of the Canton Fair to be held in October will be extended by 4 days, by what we could call an entirely new phase dedicated to the domestic market. During this 4-day exhibition, the last 2 days will be open to the public for the first time in the history of the Canton Fair.
Construction on Hong Kong-Macau-Zhuhai Bridge to Start in December The official schedule for the construction on the highly anticipated Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge was announced recently. Work will be put underway on December 20th, just before Christmas. The Bridge will connect the three cities so some were expecting specific boarder crossing regulations but the authorities have announced that all 3 cities would conduct ordinary checks on all vehicles using the bridge.

GD's Outstanding Art Performance Tour to Kick off Tonight As a series of campaigns to celebrate the 60th anniversary, the People's Republic of China kicked off recently in Guangzhou in the Beilei Theater. 50 acts, including a famous puppet piece called "8 floors and a half" will be performed at each show and all over Guangdong.

GZ and Paris :Two Weddings for the Same Couples 20 newly-wed couples in Guangzhou have been chosen for a romantic trip to Paris where they will celebrate their union with western-style weddings. They will at the same time become cultural ambassadors to promote Guangzhou in Paris. This event is co-organized by the two cities that have planned for the young lovers to leave on September 9th. After the lucky couples have a Chinese style group wedding, there will then have a western-style wedding in one of the most fashionable districts of Paris.

Guangzhou and Foshan to Unify Call Fees Beginning in January 2012, mobile phone users calling between Guangzhou and Foshan will no longer be charged for a long-distance call. What's more, landlines, fees in the two cities will be unified. Guangzhou authorities announced the decision yesterday (August 4) in a new step towards uniting the 2 cities.
