GD-Singapore Co-Project Knowledge City Progresses Smoothly Guangdong Governor, Huang Huahua, met with a delegation from Singapore Thursday (Jul 16th), which is here to attend the first Singapore-Guangdong cooperation council. Huang expressed hope that the project of a high-tech research park called "Knowledge City" becomes a role model for future projects. The president of the council on the Singaporean side, Lv Yaode, announced that the "Knowledge City" project has been progressing smoothly and that an evaluation shall be issued next month. The two sides signed an agreement in Guangzhou earlier in March to build "knowledge city".

123 Students from a Summer Camp have Fever 123 students from a summer camp in Huangpu District in Guangzhou were reported to have fever and 14 have tested positive to the A/H1N1 influenza. The camp is organized on Changzhou Island and opened on July 5th with over 800 young children and about 500 adult staff. Huangpu District authorities have ordered all the camps on the island to shut down so that it can be thoroughly disinfected.
Universiade Flag Handover to Shenzhen At the closing ceremony of the 25th Universiade in Belgrade, Serbia, the mayor of Shenzhen Mr. Wang Rong received the Universiade flag from George Killian, the president of the International University Sports Federation. Wang said that preparations are already underway in Shenzhen to host the international sports event in 2011.
