New Cars Debut at Guangzhou Auto Show
The 6th China (Guangzhou) Automobile Exhibition will kick off its week-long show at the Pazhou International Convention and Exhibition Center tomorrow (November 19). During today's press presentation, nearly 30 new cars made their debuts. Our journalist Yu Sulin has more:
Guangzhou Honda, Guangzhou Toyota, Mazda......new designs of famous car manufacturers were under the spotlight today. General manager of Guangzhou Honda Group Zeng Qinghong said:
"We are promoting our new concept cars, which are very closed to our design for 2010. Guangzhou auto show is an international car show, quite influential. There are over 100 new cars being displayed, including over 70 cars making their debut on the market."
Stricter Control on Guangzhou Car Emission
Vehicles without the environmental protection green logo on their front shield will be banned on Guangzhou's streets from next year onwards. Guangzhou Environmental Protection Bureau announced this policy yesterday (November 17), stressing that those violating the rule will be fined. In addition, high emission vehicles will be prohibited in some areas of the city.
Special Team Formed to Boost Cargo Customs Clearance
The Zhuhai Foreign Economic and Trade Bureau has set up a special team to cope with the changing business environment. The team is composed of members from the economic and trade bureau, customs, entry and exit inspection and quarantine bureau, the taxation bureau and foreign exchange bureau. Its aim is to provide better services for customs clearance of cargo.
Chinese shares sank 6.31% on dampened sentiment, profit taking The benchmark Shanghai composite index sank 6.31 percent to close at 1,902 points today, in reaction to falls on Wall Street and other regional markets. The Shenzhen Component Index lost 7.22 percent falling to 6,293 points. Analysts said the plunge was because of profit taking after rebounding on previous trading days.
