Yangjiang Nuclear Power Project to Start Construction
The nuclear power plant project in south-west Guangdong's Yangjiang city will start building the first power unit by the end of this year. An executive meeting, presided over by Premier Wen Jiabao, approved this 70 billion Yuan project on Wednesday. The first power generator is scheduled to be put into use in 2013.
SZ and HK Sign A Package of Agreements
A package of agreements has been signed between the Shenzhen and Hong Kong governments yesterday (November 13), involving the development of education, culture, environment protection and tourism in the Lok Ma Chau Loop area in Hong Kong and next to Shenzhen. The two sides also exchanged opinions on strengthening economic cooperation amid the global financial turmoil.
Guangzhou Port Transports its 10 Millionth Standard Container

A port's business level is often regarded as a barometer of a region's economy. Board director for the Guangzhou Port Group Chen Hongxian said their group will adjust their development strategies as the country is adjusting its foreign trade policy. "We will further improve the functionality of the port, increasing the port's handling capacity, especially to meet the demand of large ships. Next step, we need to build large-size deep-water berths."
