Guangdong to Boost Rail Traffic Construction
A rail traffic network consisting of 3 ring roads and 8 radial roads, which are roads that travel out from the city-center, will be formed in the Pearl River Delta to speed up transportation in the economic center. According to a Guangdong government meeting held on July 4, 20 rail routes totaling 2,000 kilometers are planned. The transit network will basically cover all cities at the county-level or above. Upon completion, the rail traffic level is likely to rival those of Paris and Tokyo.

Urban Construction Projects to Accept Social Investment
The Guangzhou government will now invite investments into urban construction projects, instead of only allowing financing from the government. A new regulation issued by the government reveals that Guangzhou will establish 7 groups to manage all investments into infrastructure construction in the city.
Beginning from July 10, two scenic spots on Guangzhou's Baiyun Mountain will open to tourists for free. Peach Blossom Ravine, or Taohuajian in Chinese, is free of charge until December, while the Stone Stele Park, or Beilin, is free of charge throughout the year except during Chongyang Festival, or Double Ninth Festival, when people traditionally climb the mountain to pay respects to ancestors.
