Black box found in China plane crash; 3 GD Passengers Suspected on Board The black box of the plane which crash landed in northeast China's Heilongjiang province was found this morning (August 25). The Henan Airlines plane carrying 91 passengers and five crew crashed late Tuesday near the Lindu airport on the outskirts of Yichun, killing 42 people and injuring 54 others. According to the ID number information provided by the airline company, 3 passengers from Guangdong are thought to have been on board, and one is now confirmed dead.
Police chief handling Manila hostage offers leave of absence A spokesman for the Philippine National Police (PNP) said today (August 24) that Rodolfo Magtibay, the police officer who handled Monday's hostage crisis in Manilla, has offered to go on leave of absence to pave the way for an impartial investigation.
