China Opens Entertainment Goods Market
China has finally agreed to open its market to entertainment goods by March 19th 2011 in line with a World Trade Organization ruling. The United States had challenged China's control on the imports and distribution of books, music, films and other entertainment products, and China finally lost an appeal in the case at the WTO last December.

China Makes Revised Offer for WTO Pact Again in the Sino-Us relations, the United States on Thursday said China had submitted an improved offer to join a WTO pact that allows its members better access to lucrative government contracts. Last month US lawmakers proposed a ban on the US government buying Chinese-made goods or services until Beijing signs the WTO's agreement on government procurement, or GPA.
China's First Half Fiscal Revenue up 27.6% China's fiscal revenue rose 27.6 percent in the first six months from the year to 4.33 trillion yuan (639.74 billion U.S. dollars), announced by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) on Thursday. From January to June, tax revenues increased by 30.8 percent from the same period last year to 3.86 trillion yuan.
China's Reports Income Increase for Urban, Rural Residents in 1H According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) yesterday, the income of China's urban and rural residents continued to increase of course in the first half of the year. Per-capita disposable income for urban people reached 9,757 yuan, actual growth was 7.5 percent. For rural residents, it stood at 3,078 yuan, and the actual growth was 9.5 percent after deducting inflation.
