City Air Quality Improved The Guangzhou Environmental Protection Bureau announced yesterday (July, 18), that thanks to the vehicle limitation measures, the air quality in the city has improved and air pollution levels are looking better. A more detailed environmental assessment will be published after the vehicle limitation test ends tomorrow (July 20th).
Yangtze River Faces More Severe Flood Than in 1998 Water levels in the upper- and middle-sections of the Yangtze River have risen due to heavy rainfall. The Yangtze Hydrology Bureau announced yesterday (July 18) that the upper-section of the river is likely to experience a flood even more devastating than the one in 1998. But the Yangtze Floor Control and Drought Relief Headquarters assured the public that water levels will be lower in the middle and lower-sections of the river.

Tourism Industry Eyes Canada According to the Sino-Canadian tourism destination memorandum of understanding, group tours will be launched for Chinese travelers to Canada in the close future. Currently three travel agencies in Guangdong have been authorized to organize the first trips to Canada, which shall begin in mid-August. Each traveller can expect to pay around 30,000 Yuan for the ten-day trip across Canada.
