China's GDP up 11.1 pct in first half 2010
China's economy grew by 11.1 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2010, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said today. The GDP reached 17.28 trillion yuan (2.55 trillion U.S. dollars) in the first six months of this year, NBS spokesman Sheng Laiyun told media at the monthly press conference.

China's June CPI rises 2.9%
China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, rose 2.9 percent year on year in June, the NBS also announced today. The figure stood at 2.6 percent in the first half of this year compared with the same period last year, whilst China's Producer Price Index (PPI) grew 6.4 percent year on year in June.

China's retail sales up 18.2% in H1
And again the monthly data announced by the NBS. China's retail sales grew 18.2 percent in the first half of the year from a year earlier. China's urban fixed-asset investment in the first six months rose 25 percent year on year to 11.4 trillion yuan and China's industrial value-added output was up 17.6 percent.

China surpasses India for outsourcing
China has replaced India as the primary destination of outsourcing and shared services for Asia-Pacific companies, accounting firm KPMG revealed on Wednesday. The KPMG survey, which covered 280 senior company executives across Asia, shows that China's outsourcing and shared services are rapidly expanding and winning market share over India and other regional destinations.

China's June power use growth slows
China's power consumption rose at a slower pace last month because of weakening demand from heavy industries. Power use in the second-largest energy consuming nation increased about 14 percent in June to 352 billion kilowatt-hours, the National Energy Administration said today on its website. That compares with a growth of about 21 percent in May.
