GD Launches Measures to Better Deal with Labor Disputes To better cope with labor disputes which have been significantly increased recently, Guangdong is now launching measures to improve the treatment given by staff to those bringing forward a case. The Guangdong Human Resources and Social Security Department announced these measures following the increase in the minimum wage in the city.
GZ Customs Gear-Up for the Asian Games During the Asian Games, a great number of people and goods are expected to enter Guangzhou. Our reporter Zhao Zhaoyi has the story: Mr. Zhou Zhiwu, the Head of Guangzhou Customs, said it is expected that a peak in the number of visitors and goods shall occur half a month prior to the commencement of the 2010 Asian Games. A designated shortcut will be set aside for those involved in the games and specific regulations regarding the entry and exit of equipment shall also be implemented. Items involved include sports equipment and equipment carried by the media. The regulations have been relaxed. As for individuals, including athletes, no special entry and exit requirements will be made during the Asian Games.
2010 Guangdong International Tourism Exhibition to Kick off in September The 2010 Guangdong International Tourism Exhibition will be held from September 25th to 28th at the poly world trade center in Guangzhou. At a press conference this afternoon(July 13th), the deputy Director General of the Guangdong Provincial Tourism Bureau, Ms. Wang Zhizhong said, a much larger exhibition was expected this year. The number of exhibition booths has doubled this year, with a total exhibition area covering 30,000 square meters and 1,200 standard exhibition booths available.
An Additional 46,000 Car Plate Numbers to be Available in GZ Starting at nine tomorrow morning(July 14th), an additional 46,000 car plates will be available online for Guangzhou car owners to choose from. The license plate numbers consist of five numbers, three digits ranging between 001 to 999, and followed by two letters from V to Z. Starting last September, car owners in Guangzhou can choose their license plate number online.
