GD's Emergency Response Regulations Effective, 30,000 People to be Employed to Offer Information
New emergency response regulations were implemented at the beginning this month in Guangzhou. The sound application of these regulations shall be integrated into the evaluation for government officials at county-level and above. More from our reporter Li Hui: Mr. Ji Jiaqi, the director of the provincial emergency response office, introduced the new regulations. " We will hire 30,000 people across the province to collect and report to us relevant information." Ji also said that on-site headquarters will be established in places where emergency takes place. These headquarters will be authorized to mobilize all resources available in handling the emergency.

GD Radio and TV Network Company Further Expands Its Coverage Guangdong Radio and TV Network Limited Company is thought to succeed in its ambition to increase its coverage across the province, after being injected with a loan of 18 billion Yuan by the China Construction Bank, Guangdong Branch. Both parties signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Guangzhou yesterday (July 13rd). As of today, 7 million households in Guangdong are connected to the cable TV network and this number is expected to hit 18 million by 2012.
GZ's Inner Ring Roads Will Undergo a Large Repair Campaign Starting at 10pm this Friday (July 14th), an extensive renovation campaign shall begin on Guangzhou's inner ring road. The work shall mainly involve laying new asphalt, putting up new road sighs and improving the sewage systems. However, many citizens are afraid the roadwork shall lead to chaos on the roads through the entire central district. The repairs will last over two month until September 30th.
