China's Housing Prices Grow More Slowly China's housing prices grow slower in June China will continue to tighten lending regulations affecting the housing market which has seen prices soar rapidly in the past year. The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development confirmed this yesterday as the latest house sales statistics were released. House prices in major Chinese cities rose 11.4 percent year-on-year in June, one percentage point lower than the increase in May. This is the second consecutive month that China's property prices grew at a slower pace.

GD's Water-saving Policy Proves Effective The Guangdong Water Resources Department yesterday (12th) issued a report on the condition of the province's water resource exploitation in 2009. The report shows that water consumption per 10-thousand-yuan output value has been dropping steadily since 2004, thanks to a policy to promote water saving, charging factories high fees if they waste water. Last year, the figure was only 41% of that in 2004.
