2010 GD-Taiwan Economic Technological Trade Conference Opens Yesterday (12th) the 2010 Guangdong-Taiwan Conference on Economic and Technological Trade opened in the city of Jiangmen. At the opening ceremony, Guangdong Vice-Governor Zhu Xiaodan delivered a speech emphasizing on the importance of Taiwanese investment in Guangdong. Last year, the import trade volume of Taiwanese goods amounted to 38.6 billion USD and the number of Taiwanese enterprises doing business in Guangdong increases by 23,000 on a yearly basis.

Tropical Storm Conson to Hit Nanhai This year's 2nd tropical storm, Conson, has been detected over the West Pacific and will hit Nanhai tomorrow, according to the province's meteorological office. Conson is expected to move at a speed of 15-20 kmph, bringing winds of up to gale forces 8 to Nanhai. For the next 3 days Guangdong can expect to see some rain and a drop in temperatures thanks to the arrival of Conson.
Overseas-China High Schoolers Visit Schools in GZ 30 overseas-Chinese high school students from California USA participated in an exchange summer camp yesterday (12th) in Guangzhou's Peizheng Middle School. Named "Root-seeking Summer Camp in China", these students will act as teaching assistants in English classes whilst getting to know their ancestors' culture, especially Lingnan Culture.
