Drivers Want to Change License Plate Numbers as Vehicle Limitation Measures will Soon be in Place

Guangzhou is soon to test out the vehicle limitation measures that will be in place during the Asian Games. The test will take place from the 17th to the 20th of this month and this morning a meeting was held at the People's Park where the rules were clearly explained to drivers. Our journalist Li Hui has more:

Most drivers asked if they could change the licence plate numbers on their cars. Indeed, some companies have a number of vehicles with only odd or even number plates which means their entire business would be brought to a halt every other day. In response to this question, an official from the Guangzhou Communications Commission said:

"Special policies will be implemented. With these vehicle limitation measures in place, we will make relevant adjustments once we get the approval from the Public Security departments. "

Procedures for registering the ownership of a dog have now been made easier in Guangzhou. Starting yesterday (11th), dog owners can now register their pets online and pay their animal "management fees" by credit cards over the Internet. The licences can now also be delivered straight to your homes.

For example, GZL Travel Service Agency said tour packages for outbound destinations are fully booked until mid August, especially packages to the United States which have been booked for the whole summer.

Scorching Weather to Persist in GD
The Guangdong meteorological office forecast that over the next three days, the weather shall remain extremely hot with temperatures averaging 35 to 36 degrees in most parts of the province.
