Events Mark 200-Day Countdown to GZ Asian Games
Today (April 26th) marks the 200 days countdown to the Guangzhou Asian Games. A large promotion campaign was held this morning in Guangzhou's hero's square, attended by over 1000 people. More from our reporters Lin Shuhua and Wang Jianping:
Zhong Nanshan was one of the guests at the event and he said that to support the games, a great way is to do more exercises.
" Jogging and even swimming are the best. The indoor sports are also good. The treadmill and the chest-expander are good choices. "


GD Enthusiastic Visit World Expo During May Day Holidays
The coming weekend will be special from many perspectives. For most of us, it means a long weekend with the May Day Holidays but May 1st also marks the opening of the 2010 World Expo which is to be held in Shanghai for this edition. Some travel agencies in Guangzhou have told us that their special tours to Shanghai are already fully booked and that anyone interested in a tour to visit the expo shall have to wait until the end of the holidays.


Foshan Conducts China's First Overseas RMB Loans
After being approved by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, Foshan recently became the first city in China to grant loans overseas and in RMB. It was MIDEA Group, a renowned household appliance giant from Foshan which was given the honor, receiving 20 million RMB. This move marked a breakthrough in the Province's cross-border RMB settlement business. 


SZ Driven By IPR
Shenzhen today (April 26th) released a white paper regarding the status of the development of the city's intellectual property rights(IPR) in 2009. Last year, the city saw a nearly 17% rise in the number of domestic patent applications, reaching almost 42,300. Driven by the IPR development, the city is expected to see added-value from high-tehc industries rise nearly 10% to hit over 261 billion yuan
