GZ's GDP Expects to Grow by 10% This year Guangzhou aims to reach a 10% growth of GDP, a governmental report delivered at the 5th Session of the 13th Guangzhou National People's Congress revealed yesterday (12th). Our journalist Li Lian and Luo Su have more:
Last year Guangzhou set forth a more ambitious goal to reach a 11.5% growth of GDP whilst this year a relatively humble 10% goal was put forward. Guangzhou Mayor Zhang Guangning explained:

The first one being that ahead of the Asian Games we have to put in more efforts to treat air pollution, water pollution and improve environment in the living communities. The second concern is that we are still striving to change around the mode of our economic growth. It is based on these concerns that we think we should slow down the speed of GDP growth."
