GZ's CPPCC Launches the Consulting Service, Boosting Interaction between Government and Members of the CPPCC
Guangzhou's two conferences are now being held, but what new developments can we expect? The ongoing fourth session of the 11th Guangzhou's Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), which opened on Sunday(April 12th), launched the consulting service for members of the CPPCC. More from our reporters Wang Jianping and Zhao Zhaoyi. Members of the CPPCC welcomed such a move, but believe the practice could last longer. "The consulting practice provides a platform to boost interaction. But only one-hour was allocated, which is a bit short. We hope the consulting time can be longer." Yang Liu, Director General of Guangzhou Environmental Protection Bureau also appreciates such an innovation. "The consulting service facilitates interaction. We can effectively improve our work from their appeals, suggestions, demands and reminders."

GD Team Dig Three Wells in Drought Relief in Yunnan
Guangdong has made significant progress in its efforts to help the Pu'Er city of Yunnan Province in drought relief work. Up until last week, three wells had been dug in Pu'Er by the professional geographical team sent by Guangdong, with members from the Guangdong Geology Bureau. They have produced 280 tons of water per day, helping 3000 victims in the drought-hit region.

For the eighth consecutive time, it has earned a place in the final of the CBA( Chinese Basketball Association), the highest level of professional basketball match in China, with a 3-1 win over Shanghai. Their place was confirmed last night with Guangdong beating Shanghai 103 to 75. Guangdong will have home advantage for the first round of the CBA finals starting on April 16th.
