Lechang Gorge to Start Impounding Water End of Year The Guangdong Water Resources Department yesterday (5th) revealed that construction work on Lechang Gorge Dam in Shaoguan has made great progress and shall be able to start impounding water by the end of this year. Upon completion, the dam shall be able to withstand large-scaled floods.

GD-HK Structural Cooperation Agreement to be Signed Tomorrow A press conference yesterday (5th) revealed that the Structural Cooperation Agreement between Guangdong and Hong Kong has been drafted out and will be signed in Beijing tomorrow (6th), after having been approved by the State Council. Authorities said the agreement has laid out more specific policies and measures for the two sides to cooperate according to the general PRD Development and Reform Plan issued last year.
Mainland Milk Powder could Follow Price Surge in Hong Kong Imported milk powders currently on sale in Hong Kong have recently seen their prices go up by 5 to 10% and retail prices even higher than on the mainland. However, the Ministry of Commerce said they expect prices on the mainland to rise as well. The surge in milk powder prices in Hong Kong started after a manufacturer, Abbott, first announced a rise in prices.
