Annual Toll Ticket within GZ, FS and ZQ Starts Tomorrow Starting tomorrow (Mar 31st), people travelling by car between Guangzhou, Foshan and Zhaoqing will be able all to use the same annual toll pass. Zhuhai, Zhongshan and Jiangmen were the first three cities to have set-up such a policy and Shenzhen, Dongguan and Huizhou are expected to follow suit. This move effectively accelerates the integration of the PRD and by the end of 2012, if should cost drivers with such passes much less to travel throughout the region.

Peng Weiguo Signs-Up to Coach Hengda Football Youth Team The Guangzhou Sports Bureau and Evergrande Football club yesterday (Mar 29th) announced that the club will develop youth teams to participate in the 2nd and 3rd division football league. Peng Weiguo, a former member of China's national football team will be coaching the youths. He has signed a 1-year contract for around 1 million yuan.

Chinese Festival of Arts Scheduled to Commence in May in GZ The 9th Chinese Arts Festival shall kick off on May 10th in Guangzhou. 65 dramas will be staged, all competing for the Wenhua award, which was founded by Ministry of Culture to recognize the professional stage performing arts. Audiences will also be able to see eight foreign dramas during this festival amongst which the Italian opera "Turandot" invited to inaugurate Guangzhou's new Opera house.
