GD Deployed to Aid Guangxi to Combat Droughts
The State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters have announced that to better help the worst drought-hit provinces in south-west China, the bureau has ordered ten provinces and cities to send aid. Guangdong will help regions desperately in need of water in Guangxi Province, sending water, water pumps, technical support, electricity generators and money. Yunnan, Guizhou and Guangxi Provinces are currently experiencing a once-in-a-century drought.

GZ's Largest Ever Artificial Lake Begins Excavation
The excavation of what shall become the largest artificial lake in downtown Guangzhou was put underway at 9am this morning (Mar 29th) in Haizhu district. In the center of the lake, there shall be two artificial islands which shall serve as a sightseeing spot offering leisure activities. The lake will be located at the convergence of six rivers and should cover over 9,000 hectares.

Flight Ticket Prices See Drops During Qingming Festival Period
Qingming Festival, sometimes translated as tomb sweeping festival shall fall from the 3rd to the 5th of April. During this long weekend, airplane tickets departing from Guangzhou are expected to benefit from discounts of up to 50%. Insiders believe Hangzhou, Xiamen and Qingdao will be the most popular destinations.
