Big LNG deal signals better Canberra ties
The CNOOC (China National Offshore Oil Corporation) yesterday (24th) revealed to the public an agreement signed with the British Gas. According to the agreement, the CNOOC will purchase from British Gas 3.6 million tons of liquefied natural gas per year and this for the next 20 years.

China to issue 26 bln yuan 10-year T-bonds
The Ministry of Finance (MOF) issued today a batch of ten-year book-entry treasury bonds totaling 26 billion yuan (3.8 billion U.S. dollars). This batch is the 7th of its kind the MOF has issued this year.

Guangdong to Go Public with Budget
Guangdong this year, will publish its financial budget, once considered a State secret. A document on how to improve government transparency in 2010, recently issued by the general office of the Guangdong government, stipulates that financial departments at all levels in the province are required to publicize their budgets so the public and media can better supervise spending.
 

Second-hand Housing Online System to Begin Trial Operation in July
An online registration system for second-hand homes will be tested in Guangzhou in July. The system works as a search engine of available properties where prospective buyers may file preliminary applications online and then proceed to the Transaction Registration Center to complete the formalities.

Guangzhou's Per Capita Food Consumption Four Times the National Level
According to Economic and Trade Commission of Guangzhou Municipality, the retail volume of Guangzhou's catering industry in 2009 reached RMB 61 billion, an increase of 18.3%. The per capita food consumption in Guangzhou is four times that of the national level. Statistics show that Cantonese cuisine takes up over 90% of the market share in Guangzhou's catering industry.
