China forecasts Q1 inflation rate between 2 to 2.5% China's year-on-year inflation is expected to be between 2 to 2.5 percent for the first quarter of 2010, the country's top economic planner said on Tuesday. The consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, would see a "moderate increase" in the first quarter, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said in a statement on its website.
Mainland invests $69m in Taiwan since June Since accepting mainland investment in June 2009, the Taiwan authorities have approved 38 investment projects from Chinese mainland companies totaling $68 million. The majority of investment went into IT, electronics and optical products, representing 53 percent of the total investment.
107th Export Fair to Be Held in April The 107th Canton Fair shall be held from April 15 to May 5 in Guangzhou. This year it shall spread over 1.12 million square meters and attract 56,000 exhibitors. This session, the number of booths at the fair has increased by 1,000 this year and the organizers have invited 860,000 foreign buyers, up 2.4 percent compared to the autumn session in 2009. What's more, the exhibition zone for brands has been expanded to 10,447 booths, nearly 500 more than last time.

Government Quality Awards Offered The Guangzhou Quality Supervision Bureau has announced it shall be presenting the first ever quality awards to a number of selected enterprises. The nominees for the award shall be announced in May. These awards will be presented to locally-registered enterprises with a corporate status which have made outstanding contributions to Guangzhou's socio-economic development. The awards will come with certificates and a prize in cash.
