Man stabs, kills 8 children in Fujian school
A man stabbed and killed 8 children and injured 5 others at a primary school in east China's Fujian Province this morning (March 23). Local authorities said police had detained a middle-aged man in connection with the attack which occurred at 7:20am. The statement said he was a former community clinic doctor who had been dismissed from his post and is believed to have mental problems. The Experimental School in Nanping Cit where the attack happened has been closed. Pupils have been taken home by their families.


China: Google breaks promise, totally wrong to stop censoring
A government official in charge of the Internet bureau under the State Council Information Office expressed discontent and indignation to Google early this morning (March 23) for violating "its written promise" and he claims the US company is "totally wrong" for blaming the Chinese government for hacker attacks. The official made these comments about two hours after the online search engine announced it has stopped censoring its Chinese-language search engine Google.cn and is redirecting Chinese mainland users to a site in Hong Kong.


Foreign Enterprises Commodities Fair to be held in June
Guangdong will continue to organize the Foreign Enterprises Commodities Fair, an expo founded last year to help foreign companies explore the domestic market and accelerate industrial transfer. This year, the 2nd session will be held at the Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Center in Dongguan from June 18 to 21. A promotion conference was held in Beijing yesterday (March 22).


Complimentary Products Disappear from Star-rated Hotels
The Guangdong Tourism Bureau has announced that starting next month; star-rated hotels shall no longer offer complimentary products such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, or soap. This surprising measure is supposedly out of environmental concern however the bureau didn't give details of the improvements it shall bring. At first, customers shall have to ask the reception for these items, but on October 1st they will no longer be available at all.
