Death Toll up to 708 in Chilean Earthquake Chilean President, Michelle Bachelet, said that so far, 708 people had died in Saturday's 8.8-magnitude quake, one of the world's biggest on record. In one costal town alone 350 people were killed in the Tsunamis which followed the quake. As the government tries to get aid to hungry survivors, the President called for calm as people desperate for food and water started looting stores in some of the worse hit areas. So far, no tourists from Guangdong have been reported dead or injured.

Toyota Today Holds Press Conference in BJ Japanese automaker Toyota today (1st) will hold a press conference to clarify some issues concerning its move to recall 800,000 vehicles on the Chinese market, and nearly 8.5 million globally. This global recall due to faulty accelerators and brakes has cast a shadow over the brand's reputation for quality. Last year Toyota sold 709,000 vehicles in China, a 21% increase in sales compared to 2008.
New Hybrid Buses For Greener City Guangzhou has added 30 new hybrid-powered buses to the city's transportation network. Launched on Sunday (Feb. 28th), operating these energy-efficient buses will lower the vehicle's gas consumption by 25%. What's more, these new buses have also been adapted to the needs of disabled people. They are currently 60 hybrid-powered buses in Guangzhou.
