BRT Opens for Free Ride Beginning today (February 10), passengers can ride Guangzhou's new Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) routes and free-of-charge for the next 10 days. The special reserved lanes with dedicated bus stations has cost 700 million yuan to built, runs from Guangzhou Dadao in the west, passing through Tianhe Road, Zhongshan Dadao, Huangpudong Lu, to end in Kaifa Dadao in eastern Luogang District. The total length of the line is 22.9 kilometers, with 26 stations. There are 31 bus routes running along the BRT dedicated lanes.
Flower Markets to Open Tomorrow The 2010 Guangzhou New Year Flower Markets will open tomorrow (11th) and, as usual, will last for 3 days until 0:00 on New Year's Day, that's this Sunday (14th). This year is the year of the GZ Asian Games and many new decorations are expected to be added to celebrate its arrival ---- more new shows and goods are to be sold, and of better quality the organizers tell us.

100,000 to bike home Some 100,000 migrant workers in Guangdong are expected to set-off home in the coming days by motorbikes. The Zhaoqing police have said the number of motorbikes driving through their city was a phenomenon which could not be ignored. The police have set up at least 20 interval stops for drivers to refill and refresh, a preventive measure aimed at reducing the number of road accidents. On average, two migrant workers sit on each motorbike, sometimes with a kid placed in between them.
