GD's Party Head Invites Online Suggestions on the Province's Development A letter sending New Year greetings written by Wang Yang, the Secretary of Guangdong's CPC Committee and Huang Huahua, the Governor of Guangdong, invites Chinese netizens to contribute to the development of Guangdong through suggestions submitted online. For those who are interested, the letter can be found most major Chinese websites. This is the third time these two provincial leaders used this internet to appeal to the public for suggestions.
Chinese Premier stresses development of social undertakings
Premier Wen Jiabao yesterday (Feb. 4th) urged the country to carry out more ambitious social undertakings to improve people's livelihoods while pushing forward the transformation of the economic growth model. He added that boosting employment should be a top priority in China's social and economic development. The Premier also said the country's income distribution system should be perfected so that all 1.3 billion Chinese could enjoy the fruit of the country's reform and opening up drive. He suggested first of all finding ways to raise people's income, especially for farmers and migrant workers.

Test-Runs Start on BRT
Last night (Feb. 4th) in Guangzhou, the BRT underwent a test-run ahead of its opening next Wednesday (Feb. 10th). Last night's tests were successful as they showed clear areas in need of improvement. More from our reporter Li Hui: Some passengers did complain of the possible chaos when the system gets up and running. There are no clear instructions about which bus is arriving at the bus stop. A passenger said,
"The buses will pull up to the bus stop one after the other and there are buses operating on at least six routes at this stop. Passengers will clearly be frustrated trying to find which bus should take and if my bus is at the end of the bus queue, it will take a while to get on the bus."
