Dairy Industry Association Defends Producers In response to a recent report of tainted milk powder, Chen Sanyou from the Guangdong Dairy Association tried to reassure consumers by saying that the toxic milk powder under the spotlight at the moment are mainly from Northern China, and not from Guangdong. He also assured consumers of the good quality of fresh milk produced by local dairy producers. More from our reporter Liang Chunmei: According to Chen, there are 91 dairy farms in Guangdong and although the output is smaller than the average dairy farms, the quality is higher than the national standard. Chen Sanyou also said he himself does not buy milk powder; instead he drinks locally-produced fresh milk.
"Though the yield is not high, but the quality can be guaranteed, and I've visited the production line, I feel assured and safe to drink."
