GD Cracks Down on tainted milk powder
Guangdong yesterday (1st) started a 10-day campaign to crack down on tainted milk powder, which contains inappropriately high levels of melamine. The National Health Ministry reported 7 brands of toxic milk powder from 2 dairy product manufacturers. However, it seems that Guangzhou has so far been spared from the scandal as the city hasn't found any tainted milk powder currently on sale. Local authorities have once again assured the public that all the tainted milk powder found back in 2008 was destroyed at that time, a statement which obviously allows people to question where the current tainted milk is coming from.

BRT to go into service this Sunday
Guangzhou's BRT may very likely go into service this Sunday (7th), half a month late on the initial schedule. Yesterday (1st), most platforms on Zhongshan Dadao started to undergo tests and our reporters have noticed that most of the facilities are operational, including the electric signaling in the stations. As a result, a number of intersections on Zhongshan Dadao will be modified to guarantee a smooth traffic flow.


Car Accident Kills 9 in Tianjin
Yesterday (1st), a tragic incident took place in Tianjin in North-eastern China, when a man hijacked a bus and drove a high speeds across the city, mowing down 20 people, amongst whom 9 died from their injuries. The perpetrator was a bus driver who is believed to have had a disagreement with his colleagues just before the incident. He then stabbed a colleague and hijacked a bus.hout the PRD, using a combination of TD and WLAN technologies. To develop this ambitious project, GD Mobile general manager said that China Mobile will initiate this project under the guidance of the provincial government. The first cities to be connected using this technology will be Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhuhai.
