Governor Huang: GD to Strive towards 9% GDP Growth
Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua, said in a governmental work report this morning during the 11th People's Congress of Guangdong Province, that this year, the province is to focus on transforming its economic development mode so as to realize a growth of 9% in GDP. Huang also for the first time specified that the expenditure in the service sector should be of 46% of the GDP.

GZ Southern Railway Station Goes into Service
The Guangzhou Southern Railway Station will officially open tomorrow (30th), and inhabitants living around the station are very eager to discover it. Our journalist Zhang Bin has more:The southern railway station is located in Shibi Village in Panyu District. The village used to be devoted to agriculture but now with the new train station, most villagers have stopped working the land and instead lease shops to newcomers. Mr. Ou told us:
" More and more people are looking to rent a house in this place. They've come here to open businesses, such as a butchery. The rent used to be a bit more than 10 Yuan per square meter, now it's several times that. I'm sure it'll be even higher in the future. "

Experts now predict that the real estate market around the southern railway station will grow by around 20%.

76% of Government Expenditure Allocated to Improve Livelihood
The Guangdong Financial Department today issued a report which claims that over 76% of government expenditure will be devoted to improve people's livelihood and balance the inequalities between difference regions in Guangdong. This year's fiscal budget will amount to 156.4 billion Yuan. Also in 2010, the Guangdong Government will allocate 5 billion Yuan for compulsory education.
