Preparations for the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Guangdong Provincial People's Congress (NPC) are now fully underway and the meeting will open this Friday (Jan 29th). More from our reporter Xiexin:Yang Zhongsheng, the vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress said, "50 citizens from all walks of life will be invited to voice their opinions and a news briefing will be held after that."

GD Trains More Vocational Students in 2009
Looking back into 2009, the number of students enrolled into secondary vocational and technical schools for the first time exceeded those entering into high schools. Every four out of 10 skilled workers now graduate from a secondary vocational or technical school, turning Guangdong into the province with the largest percentage of skilled and trained workers. This year Guangdong plans to enroll 1.4 million secondary students, half entering high school, the other half vocational and technical schools.

GD Customs Generates Record
The latest statistics reveal that last year the tax revenue generated by customs across Guangdong hit over 180 billion yuan, a record high.
