BRT route to test run next month.
Guangzhou's Bus Rapid Transit route, built on eastern Guangzhou's Zhongshan Dadao, will start trial runs next month. Construction has now entered the final stage of interior decoration, with the installation of screen doors, security booths and paving the road surface. The BRT is expected to offer quick travel at ground level, as well as providing easier transfer to Metro Line 5 which is scheduled to open at the end of this month.

Gang-Zhu-Ao Bridge Construction Starts Tomorrow
Construction of the high-profile Hong Kong-Zhuai-Macao Bridge will begin tomorrow (15th ). The project features a series of bridges, tunnels and roads that will rival the longest bridges in the world. It is designed to create better links between Hong Kong , Macao and the Mainland. The first project will be on the artificial island off the port of the Pearl River, shared with Macao . Officials revealed that the bridge's main building work will not start until next year. The total investment of the construction project is estimated at 72.6 billion Yuan.

GZ¡¯s Financial Sector Booming
The value-added of Guangzhou's financial industry soared 21 per cent in the first three quarters of this year, reaching a new high. According to figures released by the government, the financial industry now makes up 11 per cent of the tertiary industry. The value-added of the tertiary industry also jumped by 12 per cent, contributing to 7.5 per cent of Guangzhou's economic growth. Baiyun Airport and (WHICH) harbor are the two main contributors to the rapid growth.

Yellow alert: hazy weather
Guangzhou meteorological center today (December 14) issued another yellow warning signal for hazy weather, the third time in 18 days. At six this morning, the visibility at the observation station at Wushan was only 1.8 kilometers. The forecast said such weather will continue over the next two days, but will gradually disappear as a cold front will enter Guangdong tomorrow. Guangzhou's temperature will drop about 5 degrees on Wednesday.
