UN report Economic growth expected for China in 2010 A new UN economic report said yesterday(Dec 2nd) China's economic growth is projected to reach 8.8 percent in 2010, but will still fall short of pre-economic crisis levels. A preview of the annual economic report held at the UN Headquarters in New York recognized that the global "economic revival" is a byproduct of the massive fiscal stimulus given by governments worldwide towards the end of 2008. According to the report, the world economy is expected to slowly rebound in 2010 with developing Asia showing the strongest recovery.

China Unionpay issues 1 mln bank cards in Korea China Unionpay, the nation's largest bank card organization said yesterday (Dec 2nd) they had issued more than 1 million bank cards in South Korea. This is Unionpay's largest number of cards issued in a single foreign country since 2004 when it began to issue cards overseas. In 2008, Unionpay gained steam in the country after it allied with BC Card, Korea's biggest credit card company. Xu luode, the president of China Unionpay said the record number of cards issued underlines the bright prospects of the credit card industry. Statistics show that the bilateral trade volume between Chinese mainland and South Korea topped 180 billion U.S. dollars last year.
