APEC summit concludes; Hu expounds China's views on sustainable development
Leaders of the 21-member Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) issued on Sunday a declaration pledging to undergo economic structural reforms and resist trade protectionism in order to develop a new growth model to sustain the weak global recovery. Chinese president Hu Jintao, speaking on the second day of the meeting expounded China's view on promoting sustainable development and made a four-point proposal: Make unremitting efforts to fully restore world economic growth; Take a long-term perspective and promote sustainable growth; Follow a holistic approach and advocate inclusive growth; and engage in comprehensive coordination for balanced growth.

China's industrial output expects to grow 10.5% for entire 2009: minister China's industrial output is expected to grow by about 16 percent year on year this month and in December, and the full year industrial output growth could reach around 10.5 percent, according to the Minister of Industry and Information Technology, Li Yizhong. At the 3-day International CEO Roundtable conference, Li said the industrial output growth would guarantee that China's manufacturing-based economy would achieve its full-year growth target of 8 percent. China set the target 8-percent growth in March this year. In October, China's industrial output rose 16.1 percent from a year earlier, the fastest pace since March 2008 and the sixth consecutive month with an acceleration of year-on-year growth.
Ticket sale for Shanghai World Expo Opens to Group Buyers Beginning today (November 16), groups in Guangdong can book tickets for the World Expo being held in Shanghai next year. The ticket office in Guangdong was opened yesterday and various travel agencies across the province were designated to sell the 100,000 tickets currently available. Prices for groups, that's 15 adults or 30 students, is of 120 yuan per person, that's 80 yuan less than individual buyers.
