Dongguan Girl Died of H1N1
A 14 years-old middle school girl from Dongguan has died of the A/H1N1 flu only 3 days after being infected. This is the first death related to A/H1N1 in Guangdong. The student started coughing and had a sore throat 6 days ago. Two days later, she was rushed unconscious to Dongguan People's Hospital after developing a fever of 39.8 degrees. Her situation worsened and she died of a respiratory circulation failure later that night. Tests carried out by the local center for disease control showed she was positive to the A/H1N1 virus. The provincial health department immediately examined the girl's family and school mates to try to avoid a large scale epidemic in the city.

Obama arrives in Shanghai for China visit
U.S. President Barack Obama arrived in China's economic hub Shanghai on Sunday night (November 15), starting a state visit to China. This is Obama's first state visit to China since he assumed the presidency in January. He is also the first U.S. president to pay a state visit to China within his first year in office. President Obama will meet with local officials today and hold a dialogue with Chinese youngsters, after which he will answer questions posted by a group of China's most famous bloggers, a way for the president to hear alternative and non official voices from China. This exchange will be broadcast on Xinhuanet. He will leave Shanghai for Beijing this afternoon where he will hold talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao and meet with other Chinese leaders.
