Conference on Future Economic Development Kicks Off Next Week The International Consultative Conference on the Future Economic development of Guangdong Province (ICCFEDG) will be held between 19th and 20th in Guangzhou. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the event so 24 foreign consultants have been invited to follow the discussions, more than in any other previous session. As the development of the service industry is now a major strategy for Guangdong, amongst those invited most are from the service industry. More from our reporter Zhang Bin: The conference was first held in 1999 and has taken place for five times. Looking over the past 10 years, the deputy director of Guangdong Reform and Development Commission, Mr Cai Yunge said, the biggest contributions the conference has made was to bring creative thinking and advanced ideas to Guangdong: "According to official statistics, consultants from previous conferences have submitted more than 140 reports covering over two hundreds topics. Many of these advices have been adopted in Guangdong's strategic planning and macroeconomic control. " Another Two Ambassadors of GZ 2010 Asian Games Employed Chinese horse rider Hua Tian and cricket player Hua Ming yesterday (Nov. 8th) were officially named as ambassadors to the 16 Asian Games. Hua Tian is half Chinese and half British and was the youngest ever horse rider to participate in the Olympics. After abandoning his British citizenship, he represented China in the Beijing Olympic Games and is now living in Guangzhou.

GZ Urban Administration Committee Found Today the Guangzhou Urban Administration Committee was founded, an important step taken to integrate various government departments for more efficient management. The committee is now a multifunctional department responsible for urban administration, construction, urban hygiene and urban utilities.
