World Bank Raises Forecast for China's GDP growth

The World Bank on Wednesday (Nov 4th) raised China's economic growth forecast for this year. China's GDP is expected to hit 8.4 percent this year, a little higher than the country's goal of 8 percent. In June, the bank had already raised its forecast for 2009 to 7.2 percent from its earlier prediction of 6.5 percent. Ardo Hansson, the bank's leading economist on China, attributed the possible faster growth to the Chinese government's massive fiscal and monetary stimulus measures. It also projected sustainable and robust growth in 2010.
