GD Encourages Innovation with High Premium

Guangdong has announced it will launch new measures to boost innovation with the establishments of two awards, the Nanyue Gongxun Award with a prize of 30 million Yuan, and the Nanyue Innovation Award with a reward of 5 million Yuan. The first will reward individuals and groups who make tremendous achievements in economic and social development, and the second will encourage independent innovation.

GD's Six Companies Each Generating over 100 Billion Yuan Last Year
For 2008, Guangdong's Top 100 enterprises and Guangdong's Industry Top 100 were announced by the provincial authorities yesterday (Nov 2nd). Amidst the global financial crisis, the enterprises listed amongst the top 100 achieved a relatively fast growth, with six companies generating over 100 billion yuan. Southern Power Grid continues to rank amongst the most successful companies.

GZ Sees Higher Pricing in New House Transaction
Yesterday (Nov 3rd) statistics released by the Guangzhou Land Resources and Housing Management Bureau indicated that property prices are still on the rise with the average price of new houses sold in October reaching nearly 9,900 yuan per square meter, very close to the benchmark of 10,000 yuan. Prices have gone up by 356 yuan per square meter compared to September prices. In October again, 8,985 new houses were sold.
