China's overseas investment almost triples in Q3 Chinese investment abroad surged 190.4 percent year-on-year to over $20 billion in the third quarter. The Ministry of Commerce attributed the growth in investment to policies the ministry put in place this year amidst the financial crisis to encourage domestic companies to invest overseas. The policies included measures to ease approval procedures for investment, support with financial services and credit, guidance on overseas investments, and arranged trade and investment delegations sent to Europe and the Americas.
