GD, Sinopec & KPC Sign Memorandum of Understanding Yesterday (Oct 26th) in Guangzhou, the Guangdong Government, Sinopec and the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation co-signed a memorandum of understanding in which they agreed to work together in the construction of a chemical refinery plant which is to be build on Donghai Island, near the city of Yangjiang.
GD Delegation Visits New South Wales in Australia Yesterday (Oct 26th), a delegation led by Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua was in New South Wales in Australia, on the occasion of the 23rd Guangdong-New South Wales Economic Meeting. During the meeting, the two sides signed a statement in which they agreed to deepen cooperation and find new channels to cooperate in areas such as energy, technology, education, environmental protection and so on.
People under Age 3 Banned from Taking A/H1N1 Vaccines The Ministry of Health yesterday (Oct 26th) informed the public of a list of people strictly banned from taking the A/H1N1 vaccine. Although this warning comes after the beginning of the inoculation plan, nobody is thought to have yet reacted negatively to the vaccine. Those who shouldn't take the vaccine include those under the age of 3, people diagnosed will an acute disease, and finally those allergic to seasonal flu vaccines or eggs. The Ministry of Health has also warned citizens that individuals should not attempt to buy and use the vaccines on their own.
Foundation-Laying Ceremony for New US Consular Premises Held in GZ Yesterday (Oct 26th), the US Consulate General in Guangzhou held the foundation laying ceremony for their new consular premises. The US ambassador to China, Jon Huntsman, said the ceremony was held on Chongyang Festival, a way to express wishes of a long-lasting friendship between China and the US. The new consular premises are located in Guangzhou's Zhujiang New Town.
