30 Projects Start Construction in Baiyun District Yesterday (Sep 24th), ceremonies were held across Baiyun District in Guangzhou to mark the beginning of operations on 30 construction projects. These 30 projects involve a total investment of 10 billion Yuan, which includes the construction of a 45 million RMB airport apron.
First Batch of Companies on GEM Declares Share Prices The first batch of companies listed on the new growth enterprises market (GEM) yesterday (Sep 24th) declared the prices of their shares. Prices were set at a maximum of 58 Yuan per share. Today 10 out of the 20 selected companies have started to accept online shares purchases.
Hotel Price Not Exceed 200 USD During Guangzhou Asian Games The Guangzhou Price Control Administration yesterday released rules for hotel pricing during the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games. According to the regulation, hotel price during the Games will be strictly controlled and managed. For instance, a standard room in a five-star hotel will not be able to exceed 150 USD for single bed and 200 USD for double-bed. If hotels wish to raise hotel prices, they should get an approval from GAGOC. If hotel prices change dramatically due to unusual reasons, the price watchdog has the right to intervene and adjust prices accordingly.
Flights grounded at airport during parade Beijing's airport will be closed for three hours starting from 9:30 am on Oct 1 for the National Day parade. This shall affect some 180 flights and thousands of passengers. Air China has said that all domestic flights to and from Beijing during those three hours have been cancelled, but all their international flights have been slightly rescheduled. China Southern airlines has said at least 40 of their flights will be affected.
