First Batch of Companies on GEM Declares Share Prices
The first batch of companies listed on the new growth enterprises market (GEM) yesterday (Sep 24th) declared the prices of their shares. Prices were set at a maximum of 58 Yuan per share. Today 10 out of the 20 selected companies have started to accept online shares purchases.

Public Parade to be Held on Oct 1st on Tian'anmen Square
In addition to the military parade, a public parade will be held on Oct 1st on Tian'anmen Square to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the PRC. The parade will begin at 8:00pm and shall last 1 hour and 40 minutes. The highlight of this parade will be the people of course, but also a 33-minute firework show that features a 3-dimension firework display. Over 180,000 people will join in the parade.

China Southern Airlines to Operate 15798 Flights during National Day Holidays
During the National Day Holidays, China Southern Airlines, the largest airline company in Asia, will operate over 15,000 flights, including 1,100 chartered flights. This represents a 13.6% rise in the flight volume from the same period last year. The Civil Aviation Bureau has just issued new regulations that ban the transport of hazardous articles on flights heading to Beijing and China Southern Airlines said they will adopt very strict measures to comply with the agency's demands.
