Public Parade to be Held on Oct 1st on Tian'anmen Square
In addition to the military parade, a public parade will be held on Oct 1st on Tian'anmen Square to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the PRC. The parade will begin at 8:00pm and shall last 1 hour and 40 minutes. The highlight of this parade will be the people of course, but also a 33-minute firework show that features a 3-dimension firework display. Over 180,000 people will join in the parade.

Guangdong Communications to Increase Transport Capacity during National Day Holidays
The Guangdong Communications Department said yesterday (Sep 24th) that they will increase public transportation over the National Day Holidays to deal with the surge in the number of passengers. 40,000 medium-size coaches will be running and 1000 back-up coaches will be on standby.

30 Projects Start Construction in Baiyun District
