State Council passes plan to boost central region development
Provinces in central China should see remarkable economic progress by 2015, according to a plan passed by the State Council yesterday. These central areas include the provinces of Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei and Hunan. The plan focuses on promoting modern agriculture, raw energy resources, equipment manufacturing and high technology. Transportation networks will be optimized and economic zones will be built along the Yangtze River and near major railway lines. The plan also stresses the importance of favoring a green economy, protecting the farmland and water conservation.

GD Government and CPC Committee Initiate Western Guangdong Work Meetings
From today (Sep 24th) and until Sunday (Sep 27th), the Guangdong Government and the Guangdong CPC Committee will hold meetings in 4 cities in Western Guangdong to examine the progress being carried out on government policies such as the dual transfer policy. The Secretary of Guangdong's CPC Committee Wang Yang will be hosting the meetings and government officials including Governor Huang Huahua will participate. The first meeting started today in the city of Yunfu, before moving on to Zhanjiang, Maoming and Yangjiang.

GD Attracts Great Investment from HK in Service Sector
Yesterday (Sep 23rd), a meeting was held in Hong Kong to finalize the measures Guangdong will take inside the CEPA agreement (Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement) to open the service sector to Hong Kong. During the meeting, Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua said for the past two years, Guangdong had already implemented 34 opening-up policies beneficial to Hong Kong and related to the service industry and that work has been progressing smoothly. Over the past 8 months, Guangdong has seen 3.55 billion USD of investment from Hong Kong in the service sector, up 18.1% over the same period last year.

Airbus Orders Chinese Wings for A320
According to China Daily, Xi'an Aircraft Industry (XAC) will deliver the first set of fully equipped wings to Airbus' A320 aircraft assembly line in Tianjin in the first quarter of 2010. According to Laurence Barron, president of Airbus China, work will start on the wings next month in Tianjin at a site close to the final assembly line,.
