GD Attracts Great Investment from HK in Service Sector Yesterday (Sep 23rd), a meeting was held in Hong Kong to finalize the measures Guangdong will take inside CEPA (Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement) to open the service sector to Hong Kong. During the meeting, Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua said for the past two years, Guangdong had already implemented 34 opening-up policies beneficial to Hong Kong and related to the service industry and that work has been progressing smoothly. Over the past 8 months, Guangdong has seen 3.55 billion USD of investment from Hong Kong in the service sector, up 18.1% over the same period last year.
National Day Military Parade to Showcase New Equipments All troops and equipment taking part in the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the PRC are ready for the final show after four months of rehearsals and preparations. Our reporters Yangzhen and Luosu are in Beijing following the preparations. All equipment participating in the event is domestically manufactured and 90% of it will be displayed for the first time. Major General Gao Jianguo told us: "Mostly new equipment will be displayed during the National Day military parade. The land force will be showcasing various kinds of tanks, artillery and satellite communication devices, whilst the navy shall showcase their missiles."
