GD Government and CPC Committee Initiate Western Guangdong Work Meetings From today (Sep 24th) and until Sunday (Sep 27th), the Guangdong Government and the Guangdong CPC Committee will hold meetings in 4 cities in Western Guangdong to examine their progress being carried out on government policies such as the dual transfer policy. The Secretary of Guangdong's CPC Committee Wang Yang will be hosting the meetings and government officials including Governor Huang Huahua will participate. The first meeting started today in the city of Yunfu, before moving on to Zhanjiang, Maoming and Yangjiang.

A/H1N1 Vaccines to be Inoculated in PRD after National Day Holidays The vice-director of the Guangdong disease control and prevention center, Mr Lin Jin Yan, yesterday (23rd) revealed that the Chinese manufactured vaccine against A/H1N1 will be given to the population in Guangdong, especially in the PRD, after the National Day Holidays. This shall be done on a voluntary basis and shall be free of charge, the Guangdong government covering the expenses. However, the health department yesterday (Sep 23rd) said that people allergic to eggs, and those under the age of 3 or who already have a fever or a cold will not be inoculated.
GZ Metro to Extend Operating Hours by 1 during National Day Holidays Guangzhou Metro Group predicts that on Oct. 1st, the number of passengers riding the metro could exceed 3 million and therefore, the group has come up with a new train operation plan to cope with the surge in the number of passengers. From Oct. 1st to Oct. 3rd, metros will be operating one hour longer than usual and the time between trains will be shortened to no more than 3 minutes for line 1, 2 and 3, and 7 minutes for line 4.
