Disease Control & Prevention Center: More A/H1N1 Cases to Occur in Autumn and Winter
The vice dicrector of the Guangdong disease  control and prevention center, Mr Lin Jin Yan, today (23rd) announced that over the autumn and winter, more A/H1N1 influenza cases are expected to occur in Guangdong. More from our reporter Li Hongzhong:
In light of the recent comments by Margaret Chan Fung Fu-chun, the Director-General of the W.H.O announcing that a 2nd wave of the A/H1N1 had begun in the northern hemisphere, Lin said that her warning was based on the number of cases reported globally, but that the situation differs from region to region.
" the A/H1N1 virus has not mutated and most people having previously contracted the virus need not receive special treatment. If in the upcoming autumn and winter new A/H1N1 cases shall occur but the public need not panic. "
