6th China International SEM Fair Opens Today
The 6th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair & China-Spain SME Fair opened today (Sep 22nd) in Guangzhou. Last night, Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua met with the visiting Spanish delegation led by the Minister of Industry, Miguel Sebastian. This year, Spain is co-hosting the event and over 200 Spanish enterprises are exhibiting at the fair, showcasing advanced technologies in areas such bio-technology, IT, agriculture, tourism resources, franchises, architecture and so on. This fair will end on Friday. (25th)

2nd Guangzhou-Foshan Joint Mayor Meeting to be Held this Friday
Yesterday (Sep 21st), Foshan mayor Chen Yunxian revealed during a press conference that the 2nd joint mayors meeting between Foshan and Guangzhou will take place in Foshan this Friday. The two areas shall exchange on issues concerning the unifications of the two cities such as transportation, logistics, finance and so on. According to information given during the press conference, as of today, only 9 out of the 52 ongoing cooperation projects between Guangzhou and Foshan have been completed.

W.H.O. : 2nd Wave of A/H1N1 has Started
Margaret Chan Fung Fu-chun, the Director-General W.H.O. yesterday (Sep 21st) said the 2nd wave of the A/H1N1 influenza epidemic has now begun in the northern hemisphere. However, she also predicted that the epidemic should not be worse than the previous one in spring. In Guangdong, over the past week 415 new cases of A/H1N1 had been confirmed.
